A lot goes into making this show a success. And there's plenty of work to go around. You don't need to be a poultry expert to get involved.

Water Runner | Needed to keep our pitchers of water filled so our guest birds can stay hydrated. Mostly needed on coop-in time (Fri, Oct 17 and the morning of Sat, Oct 18) | 2 |
Setup Crew | This will involve setting up our exhibition floor (cages, stands, etc), vendor area, and various other displays for things like our chili cook off, education tables, and sales area. | 15 |
Tear Down Crew | Once the show is over on Sat, Oct 18, we'll need help breaking down all of our tables, cages, decorations, etc to clean the venue. This is a lot of work and many hands are needed. | 10 |
Greeter | Greeters will welcome exhibitors and visitors into the venue. They are the the first person some visitors see so it is important that this person is engaging and ready to guide people into the event. This should be done in shifts. One person for Friday afternoon to help guide exhibitors and three trading off throughout the day on Saturday. | 4 |
Membership Table | The membership table is a big part of our show. It is the representation of our club to the exhibitors and visitors. This person should be knowledgeable about the club and able to hand out our flyers and take in new membership applications. | 6 |
Coop Card Hanger | When setting up the cages, we'll need a group of people to get our cards hung so exhibitors know where to put their birds. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a team. | 3 |
Decoration Assistant | We have so much space this show! We are looking forward to making it beautiful again. Assistant would help our committee load and unload our decor, set it up, run for any supplies needed, and generally support our decoration committee. | 4 |
Vendor Setup Help | We ❤️ our vendors! And we want to make their experience as smooth as possible. The vendor setup help would ensure the vendor area is ready for vendors to load in. | 2 |
Runners (help with judges, communication, etc) | Runners are the jack-of-all-trades! They will support our judges (bringing water, paper, a chair to rest, etc) and run messages wherever necessary between show committee members and other volunteers. | 3 |
Youth Activities Setup | Our youth activities were a huge hit last show. Our Youth Activities coordinators need your help to setup the event space, hang signs, etc. | 2 |
Hang/Place Signage | We're going to have signs alllll over this time. And we'll need help ensuring they're in place and ready for our exhibitors. These will be both external sandwich boards—for traffic control and event directions—and paper signage indoors. | 2 |
Collection Signage (close of event) | At the end of the event, we'll need someone to gather all of the signage to ensure we have it ready for next time! | 1 |
Traffic Control (Parking Specialist) | During coop in and throughout the event, we'll need traffic guides. Access to the grounds around the fair building is restricted, so we'll need people to help our exhibitors and visitors get where they need to go. | 6 |
